Sensing Spaces

The Royal Academy

There was only one room at sensing spaces that I really enjoyed and that was a huge wooden structure by the Chilean architects Sofia von Ellrichshausen and Mauricio Pezo. I found their installation an interesting reaction to the space with which the had been given, even having peep holes in the structure so that you could examine the beautiful intricacies of the guided ceiling.

I liked how the platform above felt removed from the floor below through the structures that were staircases as well as legs.

This work felt very much like an arc protecting from the exuberance around it and its beauty lay in its function as well as its beautiful construction.

I would like to create something large enough to have people come inside and explore the structure and I think physical interaction with my work is something I want to look into.
